Groups Say Bailout Money Sould Be Contingent Upon Protections for Borrowers

January 26 – To ensure that taxpayer dollars in the bailout program serve students and consumers as well as lenders, we ask Congress to urge the Secretary of Treasury to make the receipt of bailout funds for private student loan financing conditional upon adequate consumer protections and better data collection.
